We originally formed in 1994 as a creative partnership between singer/songwriter and visual artist Cathy Johanson and guitarist/composer Richard Skiermont under the name Screaming Birds in Heat. Together, Johanson and Skiermont produced driving compositions influenced by POP, Hard Rock, Punk, Blues and even some Jazz, creating a unique sound that could only be explained as eclectic melodic rock with an edge. During the next seven years the duo embarked on a prolific journey that took them from their original electric edge to involve into the edgy acoustic folk rock that We delivers today. In mid-2001 the two decided to take a break, not realizing it would be three long years before they would write or perform together again. With these independent years of self-exploration under their belt the newly re-energized Johanson and Skiermont re-connected to form We. Now nearly two years since reconnecting and reforming, the pair has been writing, performing and recording their own unique style of music. Mud Pie Holiday is the beginning of their next journey, one that promises to be yet another exciting adventure.
