Indy CD & Vinyl is proud to be a sponsor of the popular Dark Alternative DJ dance night Spellbound, held on the last Saturday of every month at Indianapolis' White Rabbit Cabaret.

Not only is Spellbound hosted by DJs Annie and Andy Skinner (also the shop owners at Indy CD & Vinyl), but the night showcases DJs from all over the country. In addition, often Spellbound will also play host to live bands that are currently creating music that is often played at Spellbound, such as Minuit Machine from France, Odonis Odonis from Toronto, Skeleton Hands from Cincinnati, Chasms from LA, All Your Sisters from Oakland, and many more!

Now they are doing something super fun and different for Spellbound: they record the sets by the guest live bands from the mixing board, professionally mix and master them, and then pressing those live sets to vinyl. They will be released in a strictly limited, super-short run of ~100 copies on eco-colored vinyl (color shown in photo is not actual color) with full artwork and sleeve! These are all hand-numbered and include full-color inserts including poster from the event, set list, and random copies will include a Polaroid photo from the event!

The fifth Live At Spellbound release is the artist REPLICANT from Chicago, IL. Providing the soundtrack to our dystopian tomorrow, today, Replicant is a Chicago-based composite of the analog, the organic, and the digital. A visual and sonic imprint blurring the lines between seduction and punishment. With crooning vocals, sensual synths, and battering bass lines, Replicant draws influence from both the dark and lustrous sides of our modern dystopia. They performed at Spellbound in August 2024 and they were kind enough to allow us to record the set. Mixed and mastered by Tyler Watkins of Postal Recording in Indianapolis, the live set is here for you on collectible colored vinyl.

The sixth Live At Spellbound release is the artist MALE TEARS from Los Angeles, CA. Male Tears is a synthpop band from LA founded by James Edward. The band's sound is a mix of dark-pop, EBM, and new-beat, and their aesthetic is influenced by the New Romantic period of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Edward describes their music as "the result of a goth's love affair with 1980's new wave." Male Tears is known for their immersive visual look, aiming to create a specific world that fully represents their sound. They performed at Spellbound in August 2024 and they were kind enough to allow us to record the set.
